The Hermitcraft Craft Zine is a collaboration of arts- and craftsmen that are not using art mediums that are commonly used in fandom space. This Zine is a celebration of all the paper doll makers and origami artists, the cosplayers and the clay workers, the crocheters and knitters, the embroiderers and the sewers. It is about everyone that does not fall under traditional and digital art as well as writing fanfiction, as is very common in fandom space.It's time to shine some light onto some less appreciated crafts with the Hermitcraft Craft Zine!!

FAQ

1. Can we use crafts we have already made?You must create something new for the zine. However you can add on to past creations that you have made.In the terms of cosplays specifically:
Let's say you have a GTWS cosplay, while that can't be submitted as your zine piece, if you make his Season 11 hat for the zine you can then post a photo of the whole cosplay together as one of the zine finished photos!2. What counts as a craft?Anything that isn't drawn artwork or fanfic will be counted as crafts in this zine. Examples can be papercrafts, sewing, sculpting, recipes, crochet and so on! If you are unsure if what you want to make would count for the zine, you can always leave an ask on our tumblr!
On that note, the digital art applicants will only make project thumbnails for the crafts in the zine!3. Will contributers write the instructions for their own craft?Yes, optimally contributers would be making their own instructions but we will gladly help any contributer who is unsure on how to do so with a back-up writer. It's important that both you and your back-up writer communicate properly. Contributers will also need to provide pictures of their crafts for the zine.4. Is it okay for those whose main mcyt blogs are NSFT to join the event?Yes! The event itself is going to be PG 13, and we ask that all images in the craft you're making are PG 13. But the blog you want credited can be any blog you'd like! We aren't going to ban a blog from participating just because they post adult content on their personal blog.
